“What started as an idea for our daughter’s room has become our passion - and today it brings joy to over 30,000 families.”

Our story

The idea that startet it all

I’m Christina - I used to work as a tax consultant in a big corporate firm. I’ve always been creative, but I never had the courage to turn that into a career.

When our daughters Livia and Lea were born, I found so much joy in decorating their rooms. But I couldn’t find wall stickers that were timeless, gentle, and truly safe. Everything was too bold, too shiny, made from vinyl with plasticisers we didn’t want anywhere near our children.

That’s when the idea was born - to create them ourselves. And that’s how Mica-Mica became our passion.

The courage to start again

From the kitchen table to our own studio

When our second daughter Lea arrived, we decided to take the leap. I left my secure job, and together with Michael we worked late into the night at our kitchen table, designing our first wall stickers.

We tried working with printing companies - but the materials were never right. We wanted PVC-free fabric with a soft, matte feel and the flexibility to bring any design idea to life. So we decided to do it ourselves.

We bought our first plotter, taught ourselves how to print, and learned something new every single day.

Today, we no longer work from the kitchen table - we have our own studio in the heart of the Taunus Mountains, and we still pour just as much love into every single wall sticker as we did in the beginning.

What Mica-Mica stands for

More than just wall stickers

We want our wall stickers to do more than decorate. We want them to create spaces that feel safe, spark imagination, and turn children’s rooms into favourite places.

  • Soft fabric, not vinyl - matte, non-toxic, and safe
  • Flexible & reliable - removable without damage, and reusable
  • Made with love - from our family to yours

The name Mica-Mica

A song, a moment, an inspiration

Mica mica means “Twinkle, twinkle” - inspired by the lullaby our older daughter Livia sang softly to her little sister Lea to comfort her.

That simple, warm moment still inspires us every day - a reminder that the smallest things can bring the greatest comfort.
