As a business we strive to minimise our ecological footprint and are committed to sustainability. We, therefore, produce our fabric wall stickers with carefully selected materials in our own studio in Germany. We use the latest Greenguard Gold certified printing technology, which is particularly environmentally friendly.
From sticker design, printing, cutting and packaging - every step is carried out locally by our small team. This is how we can guarantee the highest possible quality for you and your child and ensure a largely sustainable production.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
…this is how Mica-Mica was born
It all started in 2017 with the birth of our first daughter Livia and the search for a wall sticker for her room. Since a safe and healthy environment for our little girl was very important to us, the wall sticker should not be made of vinyl. Vinyl can contain harmful plasticisers and we absolutely wanted to avoid any of it in her room! The search wasn't easy because vinyl dominates the market.
And so, the idea was born: We produce wall stickers made of fabric for children's rooms. Things really got going with the birth of our second daughter Lea.
FABRIC INSTEAD OF VINYL
Fabric wall stickers out of passion
From the start we knew vinyl wasn't an option for us. So, we started looking for an alternative material. And we found it! A high-quality fabric material free of PVC & dangerous plasticisers.
The wonderfully matt and structured surface of our fabric wall stickers gives our tattoos a warm, natural look and the elegance of wallpaper - for walls that look almost like hand-painted! We love the premium fabric material our wall stickers are made of and hope you love it as much as we do.
OUR NAME
The story behind our name
Mica Mica means ‘twinkle twinkle’ (little star) in Latin. This popular children's song is an absolute favourite with our daughters Livia and Lea. One day, when Lea was very little, we came into her room and her older sister Livia was with her. Livia was gently singing this nursery rhyme to soothe her little sister. This moment will stay in our memories forever. Our beautiful daughters Livia and Lea gave us the inspiration and courage to found Mica-Mica.
